yWorld is more than technology; it is born of the intention and vision for a new type of economy, a place where there are no frantic consumers, force fed advertising, conveyer belt franchises or watered down global brands. Instead there are businesses that are local, diverse, self sustaining and personalised, where the consumer is once again a real person to the business and vice versa. It is where advertising is replaced by word of mouth and where everything is connected from business to people, people to products, and employees to people.

We started yWorld to breathe life into communities and bring back a real sense of this on an economic level, by connecting people with the local businesses in front of them, instead of the corporate comfort they all too often go for. By encouraging a business to open themselves up and personalise their presence on-line, relationships can be formed before they even enter the business. yWorld encourages these relationships to the point where someone may discover a place to eat, clothes to buy or where to holiday from their friends. When this is achieved, from this small shift come big consequences for how product information and buying practices play out. It is somewhat amusing that at the heart of economics an assumption is made that the consumer will always make the right value/price decision at all times, but this is far from reality as marketing and advertising distort price/value decisions instead of clarifying them.

Customers have always been the natural advertisers of a business; it is only the existing advertising machine and its ill-intended distortions that have obstructed this natural trend, trying to convince us not to listen to our friends but to them instead. The new word of mouth emerging however is global through the internet and yet personal arriving on the mobile phone and can be small and private or global and public in its reach.

A local community is fast becoming a global community where information is instantly available and where people will have full control of the information they receive. People can connect with this information, follow it, and share it within their relationships of friends, family or other business relationships, because in the new economy everything is connected.

yWorld is born of this passion of striving for a new future and is all about empowering businesses and people with the tools to help live in this exciting new world. In essence we created yWorld to allow businesses to open themselves up to the people who choose to receive it. Person to person, business to person, it doesn’t matter, again its not advertising, its a genuine relationship that the person has chosen and one that the business respects, because in the end you can just switch them off if they aren’t in tune with your needs anymore.
